Connecting FSU Fraternities Using Social Networking

FSU fraternities have had a long tradition of having rivals between each fraternity and even between fraternity members. Sometimes disagreements between one FSU fraternity and the next can be as simple as just miscommunication.  A viable solution to this miscommunication problem could be the use of social networking.  By using social networking sites like facebook.com and myspace.com, fraternity leaders can communicate on a social level with each other so that the fraternal system is more congruent to collaborative goals and objectives.  A social networking system between the FSU fraternities can take the best fraternity at Florida State and have it become a social member and partner with one of the lesser-known fraternities.

With a college social networking system the fraternities can communicate about social events, sporting events, academic events, and other activities on campus in which they all share a common goal.  Once these fraternal leaders get together and smooth out any miscommunication or misdirected goals, the fraternal system can come together not only as a band of fraternal brothers, but as a united force on the campus which could help change the way the university looks at the fraternal system and how the fraternal system looks at themselves.  The rivalry that is felt between each house can become a feeling of cooperation toward a better way of fraternal life and give the members of each fraternal house a better college experience in the long run.
