Paul McDonald The Grand Magnolias Album Release
In the winter of 2010 songwriters Paul McDonald (featured in season 10 of American Idol) and Jonathan Pears joined together to form The Grand Magnolias. After months of writing and recording The Grand Magnolias, formerly Hightide Blues, release their self-titled debut album in November of 2010. The album features a rare mix of pop rock with the edgy vocals of Paul McDonald. In addition, the album features Reliant K front man, Matt Theissen, and former Wilco drummer, Ken Coomer. With songs like “Sing Out”, “American Dreams” and “Dreamin Alone” the album was an instant hit in Nashville. Along with a growing fan base, The Grand Magnolias have also enjoyed radio support by Lightning 100 (a local Nashville station) as well as many other stations across the country. Shortly after the album release, The Grand Magnolias hit the road again, playing notable venues such as The Exit/In, WorkPlay Theater and a New Years celebration with Truth & Salvage Co. in Seaside Florida.
