According to the dental associates, the new dental therapists will undergo strict educational courses, supervision and practice requirement and will be licensed to practice in Minnesota by the year 2011.

Consistent with statements from the Oral Health Section, the Minnesota dental therapist program will be similar in part to that of the Alaska’s successful dental health aide therapists program and other innovative oral health services for the underserved populations.

The Florida DUI laws are pretty straightforward and are in line with several other states in the amount of a person’s BAL – blood alcohol level – the amount of alcohol they can have in their system before they are pronounced legally drunk and unable to operate a motor vehicle – which includes motorcycles and motorboats on all waterways.  The BAL for a first offense in Florida is 0.08 or above with the convictions and penalties the same despite of the manner in which the offense was confirmed.

The fee schedule for a DUI in Florida is broken down by convictions with the first conviction being not less than $500 or more than $1,000 with a blood alcohol level – BAL of .15 or higher or the driver could have a minor in the vehicle and still be charged: not less than $1,000 or more than $2,000.  For a second conviction the fee is not less than $1,000 or more than $2,000 with a BAL .15 or higher or a minor in the vehicle: not less than $2,000 or more than $4,000. The third conviction has to be more than 10 years from the second conviction and will be charged not less than $2,000 or more than $5,000 with a BAL of .15 or higher or a minor in the vehicle: not less than $4,000.

A warm up in home sale is not expected until spring after they have cooled at the end of 2008. According to The National Association of Realtors, the index of pending home sales fell by 16 percent in November from October breaking a nine-month string of gains.

A representative from Tampa homes for sale stated that Florida, along with three other states – Arizona, California and Nevada – experienced double-digit increases in sales volume for existing homes overall in 2008.

October saw an increase in first-time homebuyers, they were scrambling to make the November 30 deadline for the tax incentive, which has now been extended to include repeat home buyers and then pushed back until June 2010.

The new federal tax incentive rules states that a home buyer must have a contract in place by April 30 and close on the home by the June 30 deadline in order to receive their tax credit.

A St. Petersburg realtor stated that distressed sales, which include foreclosed homes and short sales, are also drawing buyer’s interest which is giving hope to more than just the real estate agents, brokers and property management firms also benefitting from the increase in sales. Distressed homes are selling for 40 cents on the dollar and then an individual could turn around and sell it for 80 cents on the dollar, a nice profit margin.

The federal tax incentive is $8,000 for first-time home buyers and up to $6,500 for existing home buyers who purchase their newly constructed or pre-existing “new-to-them” home before the deadline. For existing home buyers, the guidelines they must meet is that they have been living in a home they are purchasing for three consecutive years and not have had purchased a new or existing house in the past five years.

Other motivation, such as free stuff, offered by the new construction companies or property management firms could also go a long way in attracting new home buyers. A year of free maintenance, lawn care or house cleaning would all make nice incentives to first-time home buyers all across the country.

Scott Stanley, co-director of the Center for Marital and Family Studies at the University of Denver, has studied marriage, dating and divorce for several years.  In one of his studies, he’s found that if people were not cohabitating together before getting married, then they would not have gotten married in the first place.

A recent study of 1,036 respondents, 76 percent of men and 83 percent of women said that before the marriage, they felt “somewhat” or “extremely certain” the marriage would end in divorce.  The rest were slightly certain.

-          external pressure from parents/family, partners or others

-          misguided motivations – infatuations, to escape parents

-          personal beliefs – the partner will ‘change’

-          thinking they won’t find anyone else because of personality or low self-esteem
